A La Carte
About: For me, cartography is the 1st discipline to combine science and art. The ancient Cartographer, through observation and tedious measurements, illustrated their maps with imaginative and mysterious creatures. Often, they had to rely on that imagination to provide an outline of continents and oceans only just discovered.

The juxtaposition of the frame with an antique map and the painting with its modern borders is intentional. It serves as a reminder of how the boundaries we create can evolve.

The title 'A La Carte' is a play on Cartography and the 'menu' of individual countries that offer their own unique cultural flavor.
