Why Science as Pop Art?
Whenever at the beach or up in the mountains looking at the night sky, ever truly listen to a small child ask a thousand and one questions about how it all works? Did you notice their sense of awe and wonder? Yes, its that same overwhelming amazement of our world that now as adults, we seem to take for granted.
This is why with SmashingAtoms I try not to express science imagery with literal empirical values, but emotionally and more intuitively; at level that hopefully captures our more basic or childlike sense of how we relate to our physical reality.
With playful use of iconography, wild texturing, bold use of imagery and hue, I hope that SmashingAtoms rekindles within you, that same childish fascination of how the world around us works.
